The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is located in the heart of Nebraska’s largest city, Omaha, and serve as the state’s metropolitan university. UNO offers 200 programs of study in a learning environment that features the best of both worlds-a small-school atmosphere within a thriving city where internship, employment and entertainment opportunities are plentiful.
UNO is a public, 4 year institution that was founded in 1908. The university stretches over two campuses, North and South, and is over 150 acres. UNO offers intensive En
glish Program to bridge students into university classes. UNO has 7 colleges: College of Arts and Sciences College of Business Administration College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media College of Education College of Information Science and Technology College of Public Affairs and Community Service Graduate Studies Student housing on campus is apartment style, where there are private rooms and four students in each apartment.
UNO is also home for the Mavericks, which offers a strong athletic program. It is said that becoming a Maverick is something that just happens. One day you’re normal, and the next you’re sleeping in a hockey jersey and wearing Maverick face paint to your cousin’s wedding. It just happens, so go with it.
